Physical Training: The “Do Something” Mentality

Don’t get bogged down by looking for the “absolute best” physical training program… Do Something.

With all the physical training programs out there all claiming to have the fitness solution… how do you pick just one.

Don’t!

The truth is, there is no absolute one best physical training program that can do everything for everyone… no matter what the hype.

Experiment with different physical training methods, stresses and intensities to find out which one is right for you at this particular moment in time.

Modify physical training programs to meet your own personal goals, needs, abilities and limitations.

But above all else… Do something!

In my experience I have noticed a couple of things when it comes to how people approach physical training…

First, people spend too much time looking… and not enough time doing.

This physical fitness program worked for so-and-so, but so-and-so said this one was best, but I read somewhere that this program worked, blah blah blah…

Quit looking for something to do… and do something.

Looking for a physical training program is doing absolutely nothing to improve your fitness level.

No physical training… no benefits.

The absolute best workout routine is a fable… So quit wasting your valuable training time on senseless analysis.

Second, people spend too much time analyzing their physical training.

I do not care who you are, how many probes you have stuck in unmentionable places, how many tests are performed or how many machines monitor your every move… You will never be able to determine how every molecule of your body reacts to physical training.

Now don’t get me wrong… scientific study is important and can point you in the right direction.

But once you are pointed in the right direction… go out and do something.

Don’t bother me with what happened to 100 lab rats in 1986… I’m busy training!

Furthermore, this analysis period seems to happen way too early in the physical training.

The effects of physical activity will be seen over time.

Just keep doing something to improve your fitness levels and you will see those positive benefits over time.

Third, people get sucked into “Quick Fix” physical training fitness solutions

How many times have I seen someone on the right track with their physical training… only to be side-tracked by some “Quick Fix” physical training fitness solution.

They fail to see miraculous results like the ones advertised in the pop fitness cultures marketing hype and decide that the physical training they are doing just isn’t worth their time.

But the truth is… physical training is a journey, not a destination.

You will never reach your perfect fitness level and then be able to stop.

And this journey is a personal journey… no two paths will or should be exactly alike.

You must find your own path towards physical fitness success.

You must do something… and keep on doing something!

I’m going to let you in on a little secret… You will never enjoy any long-term benefits from your physical training if it does not become a part of your lifestyle.

And no physical training will become part of your lifestyle if you don’t do something that makes sense to you.

Look past the hype and ask yourself, “Will this type of physical training bring about the results I seek, and will I continue to do it to enjoy long lasting physical benefits?”

If the answer to this is yes, don’t keep second guessing yourself… start immediately.

Wait a minute, what are you still doing reading this article… get out there and do something!

I’m going to!

How To Use Golf Training Aids To Improve Your Putting

Drive for show, putt for dough. Relax the nerves, trust your line. Eyes over the ball, smooth take away. Accelerate through the ball, and…

Klinka tinka tinka—yes! The sweet sound of a birdie putt, or even a 6-footer for par, dropping into the cup. It’s a great feeling, especially if you just finished the 18th for a personal best round. Or if you just won 5 skins to make your buddies shell out some serious coin. A hot day with the putter can make you feel like a million bucks. Actually, in the case of a PGA tour pro, it can earn you a million bucks.

Too bad that for the average golfer those days seem to come so infrequently. The average Joe uses up anywhere between 32 and 40 putts per round, while the best pros average around 30. Tour pros make just under 90% of their putts from 4-5 feet, while average guys make around 50%. That’s a lot of shots to give up! Think about this: if you are a thirteen handicapper, your average score is around 85, and you average 36 putts per round, then 42% of your shots are putts! And what do you spend most of your time doing at the range? If you’re like most guys (and gals) then you spend most of your time beating balls with your driver or mid-irons. Yet, according to the numbers you should be spending almost half of your time on the putting green.

So how can busy people with little time for golf practice still improve their putting game without doubling practice time or drastically reducing the amount of time spent practicing their full shots? Golf training aids are the answer. Many training aids exist that can quickly improve your putting stroke and green reading without spending hours on the putting green. Just 10 to 15 minutes per practice session is required for most golfers to drop strokes quickly. Here are some tips for finding right training aids or a combination of training aids to maximize your results:

1. Look for training aids that allow you to easily see the following things: square clubface, shoulder alignment, eye placement (over the ball), foot alignment, and stroke path. Some devices use mirrors, some use low-power lasers. Most training aids have physical barriers that keep the putter on the right path during the stroke.

2. For eye alignment you can always do this: line up the putt and address the ball as if you were going to hit the putt. Then take a ball from your pocket, put it between your eyes, and allow it to drop straight down. Wherever the ball lands is where your eyes are lined up. They should be directly over the target ball.

3. Whatever device(s) you choose, make sure that they are not too large and/or awkward. My experience is that you don’t use the device unless it is convenient.

4. Follow through is also important, so make sure that the training aid gives you feedback for the whole stroke. You need to see that your stroke path is straight and putter face releases properly after contact, otherwise you will have consistency problems.

5. Use the golf training aid consistently, every time you practice. You need to groove the stroke and you can’t do that unless you keep at it. Also, if possible, use the device at home or at the office when you have a spare minute. This extra practice time really helps.

I wish you good luck and a hot blade!

MLM Training – How to Stop Wasting Valuable Prospects

Have you ever wondered what causes family, friends and other prospects to dodge your calls, not show up at an appointment or completely avoid any contact with you? This common scenario could easily be avoided if MLM business professionals would learn this one very important skill…

If you do not use the correct amount of assertiveness…you will waste prospects and destroy relationships.

Assert means: the amount of force or effort used to make an opinion known . I’m not simply talking about volume (loudness of speech).

You can assert your opinion about your MLM business or product too much with a loud voice or a soft voice and it will cause the prospect to back away from your ideas.

You can assert questions too repetitively and cause your prospect to feel interrogated. You can assert not enough and cause the prospect to feel your MLM business or product is not important.

With the volume of your voice – if your prospect can’t hear you your communication is worthless. If you talk too loudly so that everyone in the restaurant can also hear you, it’s too much assertiveness.

I recall a movie called “Bowfinger,” where Steve Martin plays a movie director trying to find a person to play a particular part in a movie. The quality he was looking for in the actor was that he or she had to posses “it.”

Throughout the entire movie he would interview potential actors for the role and within a few seconds he would yell, “No no no! You don’t have ‘it!’” The actor would exclaimc “Tell me what ‘it’ is and I’ll get it!”

Yet Steve Martin couldn’t actually describe what “it” was. So he would search for another actor. Finally he interviewed a girl and as soon as she began to talk he exclaimed – “THAT’S IT! SHE HAS ‘IT!’” He then could see what “it” was.

“It” is…(drum roll please) when the individual talks, people want to listen to him or her. When you have “it,” prospects want to learn more about your MLM business. When you have “it,” people will want to learn more about your great products. When you have “it,” your downline will want to follow you and duplicate your MLM training.

Conversely, network marketing professionals who don’t have “it” drive MLM business prospects away. People back away and won’t buy your product or service, and your network marketing organization won’t follow your suggestions.

Perhaps the word that best describes “it” is charisma. The definition of charisma is: a personal quality attributed to people who arouse devotion and enthusiasm.

Of my Ten Communication Qualities list, “Use the Correct Amount of Assertiveness” is the one that really gives you the “it.”

When you have “it,” your prospects want what you’re offering. People want to be around you. People listen to what you say. If you don’t have “it,” you can use the exact same MLM prospecting scripts as someone who has “it,” but not have the same success. So this is a very important quality to have, especially when it comes to your MLM business.

Popular Virtual Assistant Training

Most Virtual Assistants choose this field because they either have vast experience in the administrative field or because they’ve gone through one of the training programs or some combination of both. With Virtual Assistance becoming one of the “hot” new careers for individuals wanting independence, flexibility and the chance to “make it on their own,” VA training programs are popping up all over the place. Let’s take a look at some of the more popular programs out there (please note that this is not an exhaustive list:

Virtual Assistant Startup System – www.TheVAStartUpSystem.com

Tawnya Sutherland is a certified Virtual Assistant and the creator of this system. The Virtual Assistant Start-up System (VAS) includes a step-by-step workbook which provides a collection of advice and practical guidance for starting your own successful Virtual Assistant business. Also included is a CD-ROM of over 100+ VA related business templates plus resource books, VA Business Plan, VA Coaching Session with Tawnya Sutherland, and a VA website amongst other things.

Virtual Assistance U – www.VirtualAssistanceU.com

This organization was founded by Janet L. Jordan, MVA, who passed away earlier this year after being an industry leader and a mentor and friend to many in the industry. It’s kept going because of the other high-quality coaches who helped Mrs. Jordan with training programs. VAU offers a variety of courses and mini-courses to help out not only new Virtual Assistants, but also experienced Virtual Assistants who want to expand their businesses or make their practices more successful.

AssistU – www.AssistU.com

Stacy Brice heads up Assist U as the President and Chief Visionary Officer. AssistU offers a variety of blogs, articles and more for aspiring and experienced VAs. They also offer flexible payment options and personal care for each of their coaching students.

JERPAT VA Coaching – www.VirtualVACoach.com

Patty Benton heads up this program of intensive group coaching. Tele-meeting in a small group with one to two coaches and a small group of coaching students offers peer advantages and great brainstorming sessions for new Virtual Assistants. She’s also recently expanded her program for established VAs who are looking for marketing help with a boot camp program at www.VAMarketingCoach.com. This program is priced reasonably and Patty also hires you on as part of her team and provides you with an earned reference once the work is done.

VA Training – www.VATraining.com

Dale & Becki Noles head up an extensive training program that includes both a jumpstart program for those wanting a quicker start and other programs that work more in detail to get your business into the best shape possible. They have a number of tuition options and work well with their coaching students to make sure that everyone receives the best possible experience from the program they choose.

Virtual Dynamos – www.VirtualDynamos.com

Rebecca & Jon Trelfa head up this reasonably-priced training program providing students with one-on-one telecoaching, unlimited email correspondence, and assessments and training sheets for you to work through. While this is a relatively new training program, it seems well-developed and thought-provoking.

When choosing a training program, ask lots of questions such as:

* How long has the coach been coaching? How long have they been in business? Most VA coaches are or were practicing Virtual Assistants. Ask for coaching references and client references to see how they are to work with/for.

* What is the coach’s background? What experience do they have with teaching, mentoring, training, administrative work, etc.?

* What is the cost of the program? Can you afford it? Do they take partial payment in the form of trade hours, especially if your budget is tight? Do they offer a payment plan?

* Did they study under a coach or take a formal coach-training class?

* How long is the training program? What does the lesson plan look like? Is it structured well? Do you have the time to invest?

* What does the “textbook” look like? Is it a comprehensive text, full of helpful information and guidelines; or does it look like a pamphlet?

By asking these questions you’ll be better equipped to determine which program better suits your needs.

Dog Training Collars Are Not All Alike

If you are a new dog owner or simply need to give your dog some additional training one of the first things you need to think about as a dog training collar. Back some years ago there weren’t many options, but today there are many different kinds of training collars and, depending on the task at hand, you may need to buy one particular type or many.

All dog training collars and not created alike in some may be more appropriate for the type of training you need to do if your dog. Here’s an overview of some of the different collars available and what they are best suited for.

Martingale collars are best described as a limited to choke collar. These are similar to a choke collar, however they will not constrict smaller than the size of your dog’s neck, therefore will not roughly choke your dog. They do get tight enough so the dog cannot wiggle out of them and are great for agility training. this type of collar is great when you need to call it that you dog cannot wriggle out of but also did not want to worry about your dog accidentally getting choked.

The head collar looks kind of like a horse halter and goes around the dogs face with the leash attachment under the muzzle. Many people mistake this for muzzle but in fact it is not keep you dog from biting but so that you can lead him from the head. When you read your dog bites had his body has to follow and therefore you have good control over getting your dog to go where you want them to go. This type of collar can feel really weird to dog might take awhile to get used to it. Training with the head collar can be tricky since you don’t want to simply lead to your dog around like a pony or he will become dependent on you meeting him and won’t have a mind of its own!

The pronged collar is good for dogs that are very strong and have a muscular neck. This is a good collar to use if your dog is really wild and you have trouble controlling him. The collar has prongs which poke out into the dog’s neck – not sharp prongs, but more like fingers in the applied pressure helps to control the dog. Some people feel that these collars are cruel (they do look kind of mean, but are not as bad as they look) but they can give you an edge until you can get enough training under your belt to be able to control your dog with a regular collar.

The choke chain used to be really popular caller and leash control device but it’s not use too much today. this is basically attain a ghost or rank and when you make on the chain it tightens up on the dog’s throat. they are out of favor today as the type of training you get by using this kind of chain is usually based on punishment in today’s way of thinking is that positive reinforcement is way better way of training your dog. These can also be very dangerous if the chain gets stuck your dog can literally choked to death. If you do use the choke chain you need to make sure you are with your dog at all times and never leave him change out anywhere with a choke chain collar on. the variation to this, the limited choke collar, is made up of a nylon strap and has the ring sewn into a piece of material so that it cannot move as far and could never choke your dog.

Electronic dog collars can be an effective training device if used properly. Personally, I wouldn’t really want to shock my dog but many people do report that these work great and lessen the training time. The way the callers were is the caller has a receiver that can admit a small jolt of electricity. The trainer holds a remote and when your dog starts to exhibit undesirable behavior you press a button on the remote ( or turn a knob) and he gets a jolt. Eventually he learns when he exhibits the undesirable behavior, he’ll get an unpleasant jolt and therefore this discourages him from repeating this type of behavior. The problem is that many people use this as a punishment when in fact it is intended to simply get the dog’s attention. Don’t wait until your dog is barking excessively and then administer the punishment. In order to properly train your dog you need to be observant and see when he is about to bark and then give him the shock to distract him from the barking behavior in the first place.

No bark collars are intended to discourage a dog from barking. they do this by sensing the vibration of the bark and then providing some sort of deterrent. The chart can be one of three things either shock, a noise, or puff of citrus spray. Once you dog associates back to barking with one of these unpleasant occurrences he might think twice before he barks again. While this might work to discourage her dog from barking, you may be better served by figuring out why he’s barking and trying to eliminate the behavior that way.

Choosing a dog training collar as a matter of personal preference and the needs of your dog. When training, always remember that positive reinforcement is better than punishment and in fact punishment rarely works. Be kind to your dog, be persistent and be patient and you’ll soon have a well-trained and obedient companion for life.

Bodyguard Training

There are many aspects involved in Bodyguard Training and most countries now require a Bodyguard to hold a Bodyguard Certificate.

A Bodyguard certificate is often a short 8 to 10 week course, where a person learns first aid, self defence training and knowledge of the industry.

However, Bodyguard training can evolve and a person can gain higher certificates, or even branch into more specialist areas. Although a person only requires the basic Bodyguard certificate to find Bodyguard Work, they may require more training in order to apply for a specific Body Guard job.

Bodyguards are expected to update their skills regularly to ensure that they have current knowledge of their industry. This is something that is currently occurring in all industries. Through continued life learning, people are able to maintain and improve their level of skill within their industry area.

Bodyguard Training can involve, armed guard training, personal protection officer training, first aid training, or management training. A Bodyguard does not have to be out on the job all their life, there are many opportunities to branch out, or work you way up.

Prior to beginning any Bodyguard Training a person will be required to undergo a police check. A police check is conducted to ensure that anyone entering the Body Guard industry is not wanted for any crimes. As a Bodyguard may be required to handle a loaded firearm, it is essential that a person considering becoming a Bodyguard is not committed any firearms offences.

The Bodyguard industry has become quite advanced and through industry networking is able to offer Bodyguards access to advanced training courses, seminars and incentives. Some of the advanced training courses include, advanced driving techniques, advanced firearms and advanced self-defence techniques.

As you can see, being a Bodyguard does not have to be a lonely profession, there are ample opportunities to get involved and meet new people. Through networking and sharing ideas, the Bodyguard industry becomes stronger and more capable of dealing with viable security threats.

Other more specialized areas of Bodyguard training include, canine training, private investigator training and celebrity protection. Within the Bodyguard industry there are also many support jobs, such as administrators, financial managers, security managers and more.

Training within the Bodyguard industry is diverse and can span your whole lifetime. You could be a roving patrol, a stationary guard, in charge of several other Bodyguards, or keeping watch at sporting events. What ever you choose to do in the Bodyguard industry, there is plenty of opportunities and ample available training.

As you can see, there are no limits in the Bodyguard industry. After a few years working as a Bodyguard, you may decide to go back to university and later join a government agency, such as the CIA. Anything is possible within the Bodyguard industry and you just need to make the decision that best suits you.

CRM Training Is Essential For Success

Imagine yourself wanting to run an airline company – a budding Freddy Laker. What do you need? Well, planes of course, but let’s say you have a bundle of these. What do you really need to make them work?

That’s right – pilots! So how are you going to train them? Will you introduce them to an airliner? Take them up the steps and show them the insides – the aisles, the seats, the toilets? Why not take them into the cabin and show them the instruments, the dials, the communications system, the . . . Or how about showing them how it works. That’s right, get a pilot and get him to take off, fly about a bit while they watch, then land.

Then would you give them their wings, fill the plane full of passengers and ask them to do just what the pilot did? No, of course you wouldn’t.

Then why is it that this is precisely the way that many companies train their employees in how to use newly installed Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software? Failure to train staff properly is the path to failure. Your business will crash just as effectively as that plane would – and just as quickly, without effective CRM training.

The major reason for the failure in implementation of CRM systems is the failure of a planned and structured training and implementation procedure. That is the Number One reason. CRM training is essential for success.

Customer Relationship Management is a science – it is not the art that the old-style reps would have you believe. It absolutely true that the personal touch is with the customer is critical to success, but the day-to-day management of a CRM system requires the application of science and the provision of adequate tools to manage all of the stages of an integrated customer relationship management system.

There are many companies that provide computer CRM training classes, though the corporations that develop the software frequently develop the software with the customer’s training requirements in mind. Microsoft, for example, integrate training resources right into the software systems they develop, and this is as true for their CRM software as it is for Office applications.

Applications such as Marketing Analysis, Event Managing, Sales Forecasting and Incentive Compensation and Bonuses are but a few of those which computer based CRM training cover, though the Microsoft CRM 3.0 training course is more easy to understand than most due to the seamless integration with Microsoft Office applications and Outlook. Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 software sits nicely alongside other Microsoft suites and integrates perfectly to provide a CRM solution for small to corporate size businesses which is simple for employees acquainted with Microsoft Windows applications to learn.

CRM training is essential for success, and it is essential that it is carried out effectively. How much simpler to do so if it is already programmed to be an integral part of an accepted suite of business programs! CRM training will not only be easier, but accepted by employees as an extension of their existing knowledge, rather than an addition burden placed upon them.

How To Use Golf Training Aids To Train Your Brain

You’re having a good round through 14 holes. The kind of round that could turn into a personal best if you can just avoid any big numbers on the way in. Strolling with some trepidation up to the 15th tee, you set down your clubs and look down the fairway. It’s your nemesis hole, a par 4 with a lake on the right off the tee and some vicious sand trouble to the left.

It seems like you never escape this hole without some damage. The last time you played it you put two in the water and made a snowman—NOT good. If somehow you can just sneak past this hole unscathed one time, you think you can finish strong.

As you tee it up and go through your pre-shot routine, a lot of nasty thoughts creep in and set up camp. The first and most obvious is “DON’T hit it in the water again.” This is followed by a bunch of reactive thoughts like, “Don’t think about the water or the ball will go there” and “Don’t hit a slice, but don’t pull it into the sand.”

You’ve been hitting it pretty straight all day, so you’ve chosen a target on the left side of the fairway. But in the middle of your swing you remember that you did the same thing last time and still sliced it in the lake. You over-compensate and spaz to the left, yanking the ball left into a gaping bunker.

You then proceed to make a mess of the hole, coming away with a double bogey. Your mindset ruined, you chop away at the remaining 3 holes and end up with an average round instead of tidy personal best you were gunning for.

If this type of thing happens to you more than you’d like to admit, and you’re really sick of it, consider adding some mental training to your practice routine. Mental training can relax the mind and free you up from anxiety, allowing you to get out of your own way on the road to lower scores. The mind is the most important tool in the golf arsenal, so it’s surprising that most golfers spend so little time training it.

Most golfers I know would rather spend $400 on new driver than buy a golf training book or video for $30 and actually take the time to read/watch it. So adding some mental preparation to your game can really give you an edge over the competition as well.

But how do you do it? How do you train your mind to have the crystal clarity and laser focus that you need to play your best golf? The answer is simple: golf training aids (i.e. books, videos, etc). Yep, books and videos are golf training aids for the brain.

Just as hitting long, straight drives requires lots of training for the body, performing your best under pressure requires practice for the mind. Here are some tips for finding the brain training aids that will help you maximize your results:

1. Get a variety. No single book/DVD, etc. has a monopoly on all the good knowledge about the mental aspects of golf. Find training aids on general golf psychology, course management, putting, practicing, and meditation. Make sure that everything you buy has a section on strategies for dealing with pressure and stress, because that’s the name of the game when it comes to competitive golf.

2. Make sure that the training aids you buy have specific exercises to help you get better. You can’t master these techniques without practice. It is also helpful if any practice range exercises are condensed into short lists so you can easily copy them and bring them to the course—it’s hard to remember a lot of exercises without referring to the book and this can be cumbersome.

3. Practice visualization at the range before EVERY shot. Imagine a specific situation on the course, visualize the shot you need to hit, and then go into your pre-shot routine. If you do this consistently then you will start to do it automatically on the course.

4. Drills that involve some type of manufactured pressure can be really helpful for improving your game. For example, after your round, go to the practice range and make five 5-foot putts in a row before you go home. Once you have mastered this, then move the goal up to ten 5 footers in a row. Nothing makes you concentrate more than knowing you have to make this putt or start over, especially when you’ve just made nine in a row for the third time and you’re getting hungry.

Good luck and commit to every shot!

Life Coaching – An Introduction To The Revolution In Personal Improvement

Life coaching arrived in the UK around 10 years ago, having started in the United States some 10 years earlier. The idea of life coaching is to define goals and work out how you can achieve them. Whereas therapy analyses the past, with life coaching the emphasis is on the future and how the client can fulfil their potential.

A life coach will not judge their clients but work with them on issues causing difficulties in their life. They will help the client understand problems, see what may be holding them back, work out solutions, set goals and concentrate on ways to change for the better. Life coaching will usually involve a series of regular sessions over several months and contact with your coach can be by telephone, email or personal visit.

Life coaches will have different styles and use a variety of methods in their work, depending on the needs of their client. Many will use experience gained in disciplines such as sociology, psychology, career or other forms of counselling. However, life coaching is not intended for those with psychological illness.

Individual clients come from all sorts of backgrounds and maybe looking for anything from major life changes to a few small adjustments to put them back on track. Although clients are often individuals, many companies also use life coaches to work with their employees in house. Improving motivation, developing leadership and teambuilding skills, or managing working relationships could be some of the areas covered.

How can life coaching help me?

If you are at a transition point in your personal or professional life then coaching can give you the confidence to set priorities, take decisions and make changes which will ultimately help you achieve a happier life. It is all about taking charge of your life and getting the results you want, rather than drifting and allowing things to happen around you.

In your working life perhaps you would like to improve your career opportunities, achieve more or develop your skills, but you are not sure how. Alternatively perhaps you would like to become self-employed, or simply need a change. A new challenge can give you a sense of purpose but you may lack the confidence to proceed. Life coaching will help you understand and accept your weaknesses, but also enable you to believe in yourself and make the most of your strengths and abilities.

In your personal life you may feel you need or want to change your lifestyle. Perhaps you would like to lose weight, improve your health and fitness, manage stress or gain a better work/life balance. While you may well know what you should be doing, actually keeping up lifestyle changes is difficult at times. Coaching can help you identify exactly why you want to change, why earlier attempts may have faltered, and to view the process in a more positive way. Crucially the targets you set will be realistic so that your motivation and the benefits of change can be maintained.

Good relationships with those around you are very important to your sense of well being and satisfaction with life, but relationships can be difficult both at home and at work. However, this can improve with the help of coaching sessions. Talking through the issues will enable you to see how you can change to help resolve problems.

How can I find a life coach?

There is no professional body or any regulation in the Life Coaching industry. In theory anyone can set themselves up as a life coach with no formal training or experience. There are training courses available but no recognised qualifications. Therefore your own research and instinct will be the most important factors when looking for a life coach. The media, particularly the internet, and personal recommendation are likely to be your best sources of information.

Your choice of life coach will partly depend on your purpose. If you are looking for assistance with a particular area of your life, then you will want to research the experience and skill available in that area. For example, some coaches may be more effective working on family issues than changes at work. However, you may feel that personality and how the coach clicks with you are more important than any particular background. The way the coach asks questions, delivers constructive criticism and motivates their client is of course going to be vital to the success of the sessions. Also remember to consider whether you would like the option of face to face contact with your coach.

A good life coach will not ask for a large payment upfront. After the initial introductory conversation you should be allowed time so that you can be reasonably sure you have made the right choice. This works both ways as the coach will also want to be sure you will have a successful working partnership.

Can I become a life coach?

As a life coach you will need excellent communication and listening skills, a positive approach and the ability to encourage and motivate others. You must obviously enjoy working closely with people and also be flexible. More specific skills may be required if you choose to work in a particular area of life coaching.

Although there are currently no qualification requirements, you may well choose to undertake some form of training course before you start to practice life coaching. Training will develop your skills and is likely to give you more confidence and credibility. As there are no academic standards you will have to rely on your own research and evaluation to find an appropriate course. Your choice will depend on previous experience, and personal interest. Remember to ask about the cost of the course, time involved, support available and recommendations from previous students.

3 Basic Training Tips for Better Handling of Your Dog

Dog Training has been taught using many diverse theories. When teaching your dog new tricks and tackling obedience training, keep in mind that it is going to take both dedication and patience. Along with that it also takes skill and a sense of personal awareness of not only the actions of your dog, but your own body language and training practices as well.

Below are three tips or guidelines that any dog trainer can make use of when training their dog:
1. Signals should be given to your dogs with only one hand and only one arm. In the most early stages you can exaggerate the signals to get your dog’s interest, but after this has been done for awhile all signals must be given smoothly and swiftly without any extra body motion. The size or sex of your dog is not an issue here, as you can train almost any dog to pay attention to you and if he is paying attention to you he should see your signals.

There are some people who may disagree with this school of thought but those are the ones that have not yet learned how to make their dogs pay attention to them. You will have to monitor yourself very carefully so that you don’t give out inadvertent body signals to your dog. It is quite natural for a beginner to nod his head, lean forward, or move his hands when he calls his dog. He is so engrossed in watching his dog that he is not aware of his own actions or movements. Have another person watch you so he can tell you when he notices you doing this. That is really the best way and sometimes the only way to really know if you are doing this or not.

2. Stay consistent – don’t scold a dog for an offense one day and praise him the next day for the very same thing. You really cannot expect your dog to become familiar with an exercise if you keep varying your training methods each time you execute it. Dogs learn the basic work by repeating an exercise over and over and the entire training program should proceed easily and with as much consistency as possible. And keep in mind that the techniques you will use in training your puppy will be repeated in advanced exercises as your dog gets older and your handling manner should remain the same.

3. You should always be studying your dog so you can anticipate his reaction to any situation. You need to become attuned to your dog’s sensitivities. If you have a gentle and quiet dog, do not provoke him by rough treatment. He will become very alert and responsive if you train your dog in a calm and gentle manner with consideration for his feelings. On the other hand, aggressive or overly playful dogs need a more forceful approach.

It may appear that the training of your dog requires a lot of time and patience as it does, but just remember that the payoffs will be immeasurable in the future.
